Cortoss

Cortoss is a high strength bonding, self-setting composite engineered specifically to mimic the strength characteristics of human cortical bone. It is intended for use in the treatment of compression fractures of vertebral bodies, in orthopaedic procedures where bone screws of fixation devices cannot be sufficiently tightened or have stripped and lost purchase and in all cases where cortical bone void filling is required.
Key features and benefits:
- Immediate load-bearing due to mechanical interlock into porous bone, followed by intimate bone ongrowth along the contours of the surface without intervening fibrous layer
- Simple aseptic delivery through a refilled disposable cartridge
- Compressive strength similar to human cortical bone (210MPa VS 200MPa respectively)
- Tensile fatigue strength at physiologic loads and greater (2MPa – 20MPa) exceeding 10 million cycles
- Outstanding inherent radiopacity, for optimal fluoroscopic imaging as used in minimally invasive procedures
- Set time is 5-8 minutes, less than half the time of PMMA
- Lower exotherm temperatures minimize tissue necrosis (55-65o VS 90-120o for PMMA), while it attains its peak exotherm for 1-2 mins whereas PMMA remains above 51o for up to 8 minutes

Vitoss

Description
Vitoss Bone Graft Substitute is the market leading synthetic bone graft with over 250,000 implantations worldwide. The success of Vitoss Bone Graft Substitute is founded on proven results and experience. Numerous human clinical studies have demonstrated equivalence to iliac crest autograft, the gold standard.
Vitoss is an ultraporous β-TCP, with an optimized structure engineered to resemble human cancellous bone. It is the most porous ceramic bone graft on the market (88-92% interconnected porosity) with pore size ranges of 1 – 1000μm in diameter.
Vitoss is 100% resorbable, concurrent with the formation of bone
It possesses excellent hydrophilic properties, readily absorbing blood, cells, marrow and nutrients
Vitoss is intended to be used for filling bony voids or gaps of the skeletal system (i.e., the extremities, pelvis, and spine, which include posterolateral fusion procedures), and may be combined with saline, autogenous blood, and/or bone marrow.
